The Heil Sound PL-2T overhead boom uses a system of perfectly balanced internal springs rather than the unsightly, mechanically unstable outboard springs used on booms of much lesser quality. Handles microphones up to 3-1/2 pounds in weight. Remove the top and back plates to thread the mic cable inside the boom with ease. No more cable connectors to remove and replace! Ships with a standard C-clamp mount. The PL-2 accepts industry standard 5/8" threaded mic clips or shockmounts. The chrome threaded stem can be locked into place depending upon the exact type of microphone or shockmount. Counterweight included to accommodate lighter microphones. Need to mount the PL-2T permanently to a desk or table? See the FL-2 Permanent Flange Mount (sold separately).
This is the best Mic stand I have ever owned. It clipped securely to my desk and was easy to install. Holds the microphone perfectly still while I am doing podcasts or video conferences. I should have gotten one sooner. If you have a Heil Mic and need a quality stand this is a must have!

This fully featured and easy to use boompole is sure to be an asset to your equipment list. It extends from a super compact 3' to a far reaching 10' while being very lightweight thanks to the aluminum construction. At the base is a large foam handgrip and at the end a 5/8"x27 threaded mount for use with most microphones and shockmounts. The newest version as of November 27th 2011 does not use interior springs to ensure there is no noise.
Great products. Twist to extend works flawless. Solid construction. As an entry level film maker price and quality are sometimes two very related items. It's great buying an affordable boompole that's built like one 4-5x more expensive.[...][...]Jeremy

Ultimate Support Music Products MC-125 Boom Stand for Professional Studio
Not a lot of reviews for this stand out there so I thought I would share my impressions. I bought this stand to use on a live set for a TV/Radio show. I needed a stand that could support Sm7s and RE20s with a boom arm long enough stay out of shot. This stand fits my needs perfectly. It is built like a tank and weighs a ton. The casters are high quality and are lockable. Unlike most studio boom stands you can adjust the length of the boom arm. This is a serious stand and should last a long time. Just ordered another one.

On Stage SB96 Plus Studio Microphone Boom StandOn Stage SB96 Plus Studio Microphone Boom Stand is nearly everything you need for starting a studio project. The 40-teeth boom clutch adjusts boom angle and locks securely giving non-slip locking power. The four folding legs that lock in place and attached locking casters make for an unbelievably stable foundation. And, this studio boom can be taken anywhere as the entire stand folds for travel!Don’t go On Stage without this! The core is a telescoping vertical shaft and an extra-long telescoping boom with a solid steel counterweight. Added to the end of the boom is a Posi-Lok mini-boom arm. The Vertical shaft on the SB96 adjusts from 45-76 inches, and locks securely with a friction locking knob. This On Stage microphone stand offers a removable 7 inch arm extension with Posi-lok clutch to adjust microphone to any position.
I have read a lot of bad stuff on some sights about these stands ( along with some good ) and was pleasently surprised when they got here. Sturdy as they need to be and then some. We all know that On Stage is known for a certain amount of quality, hence the price. But these guys are better than most of the stage booms you are used to. And if ya want something any better, $400 or so. Good deal to me....stoked on this stand.

The Rode PSA1 is the perfect microphone stand to mount a microphone to a studio desk or any other hard top. If you've seen broadcast booths or radio stations you've seen this mic stand in action. The PSA1 rotates 360 degrees with a maximum reach of 32.5 in. horizontally and 33 in. vertically. It can mount to virtually any microphone out there.
I got this mike boom to overcome a space problem.I have an AudioTechnica microphone with shock mount. I originally had a desk mike stand to hold it.MAJORLY cumbersome, and wasteful of disk space.Mounting the mike on this arm, and the arm to the desk, took all of three minutes. What an improvement! I can pull the mike closer in, use it, and then push it up and out of the way. It's spare and functional, sturdy enough to hold my hardware and light enough not to be a burden. It's a tad pricey; but if you believe you get what you pay for, this will meet and exceed your expectations.

This mic boom stand features three legs that retract and fold up to a neat package allowing for ultimate portability, and a microphone clip is included with each tripod microphone boom stand. Since we are offering (4) telescoping microphone stands, you will receive (4) microphone clips as well. Stable, tough, and affordable, both of these telescoping microphone stands extend up and over in order to provide a microphone close to the performer with the straight bar distanced away making it ideal for performers. You may attach any standard sized microphone clip to the boom arm of these telescoping microphone stands with steel tubing construction. Rubber rest pads on the stand's feet hold the boom microphone stand firmly in place. With the boom arm in place, the tripod microphone stand reaches a maximum height of 99 inches. Have a sudden need for a straight stand? Remove the boom arm to reveal a straight microphone stand with an adjustable height from 27 inches to 62 inches, conforming to…
They're what you would expect from a $20 mic stand. The metal on the tubing is thin gauge, and the connecting pieces are thermoplastic. They need a little more weight at the bottom, because they legs are lightweight tubing and the connecting piece is also plastic. My big complain though is the piece that holds the boom arm onto the stand. It's plastic, okay, I expected that. However, the neoprene rubber they used as washers to add resistance in the space between the two flanges is too high of a durometer (not soft enough), so that if you put a dynamic mic on the boom arm, the boom starts to fall. I'm purchasing softer rubber washers to replace it ($10). If you buy these stands, expect to have to do the same. They will be usable after that. I would recommend On-Stage Hands over Griffin any day though. And they aren't much more expensive. Still they're good stand ins until I can afford better. Conlusion: Okay for the price, they are adequate with one small modification. Not a terrible value.

These are hands down the worst mic stands ive ever had the displeasure of encountering. i mean you cant expect much from a bundle this cheap, but im almost offended that someone manufactured these and called them mic stands. Absolute Crap. DO NOT BUY THESE. 4 out of 6 broke in the first 2 days. i wish you could take away stars in this review template.

This unique product from K&M brings the technology of the iPad2 within easy reach of the musician. The new mount is guaranteed to hold the iPad2 effectively and safely. For use on stage, in the rehearsal room or at home - the 3/8" internal thread means the holder can be attached to any microphone stand easily and quickly. The iPad is clipped in and out of the holder effortlessly. An easy-to-use wing nut adjusts the tilt so the user can easily find a position to suit them. The iPad2 can be rapidly switched between the vertical and horizontal format, whereby slip is prevented. K&M has coupled this great new product with one of their best-selling tripod stands for maximum convenience and flexibility.
I must say the finish is excellent and everything looks great and functions well with exception of the iPad cradle. My iPad does not "snap-in" very securely unlike another after market product I purchased, a Targus leather case. Thank goodness for gaffers tape. I plan on borrowing a blowdryer to heat the cradle and bend it into a tighter fit.

Microphone Stand - low level w/2 piece boom arm
I have several of the standard length (63 inch high) versions (Model 210/9) of this stand. I use them professionally almost every day in the studio and on-location, and could not be happier with their performance and reliability. They cost a little more than the similar appearing stands made by "On-Stage", "Musician's Gear", "Samson" and "Ultimate", but are made to a very high standard and work every time. The K&M folding stands are used by many pro engineers for a reason - they just work right!. They are made of fine materials, everything is well machined so everything fits, they have a precision feel, and they last forever. The only downside of this design is that the stands are fairly heavy. This is not an issue in a studio situation, in fact the weight of the base casting actually adds to the stand's stability. However, if you have to carry 4 or 5 of these to an "on-location" gig, the weight is not appreciated. For situations where I need higher mic placement, I still love my old Shure S-15s, and sometimes I will chose my "Ultimate" (squeeze grip) stands for vocal mics, but the cheaper "Musician Gear", and "On-Stage" stands are kept around only for the rare situations when I need a large number of mics or as "back-ups". Once you use a K&M mic stand (or a K&M music stand), going back to a cheap Chinese stand is like switching from driving a new BMW to a used Hyundai. No offense…

The Rode PSA 1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm is the professional way to mount your microphone to a studio desk. The PSA1 works with almost any mic on the market. Rode PSA 1 Features Rotates 360 degrees and reaches 32-33 inches from the base Includes two desk mounting options 2-axis swivel mount for accurate positioning Holds up to 4.4 lbs Includes 3/8-inch threaded mic clip.
I worked for a radio station years ago, and they had heavy-duty mic booms with shock mounts that worked great. I knew how convenient they are, but I also had high expectations. I was concerned that something this light might be susceptible to transferring vibrations beyond what a shock-mount would be able to dampen. I'm happy to report that this boom works great!I keep a condenser microphone (1.3 lb) with a shock-mount attached to it, along with a circular windscreen with a goose-neck extension mounted to the lower tube on the upper section. The boom pans on a horizontal axis in addition to being able to raise and lower it, and pull it closer or push it back, so I usually just swivel it to one side when I wish to move the microphone assembly out of the way.If you intend to mount a microphone to the boom, I recommend using a shock-mount. I did some vibration testing, and found that the addition of the shock mount dampens "normal" vibrations from the table so they don't register at all (writing, resting arms on the table, using a mouse or my Wacom tablet, typing on a keyboard - although clicking sounds from keyboard's keys are picked-up by the microphone)The boom was easy to setup, and I haven't had to make any adjustments since I originally installed it (four months ago, as of this writing)I recommend this product to you if you need a light-medium-duty boom stand to mount on your desk or table.
